DriversMap

Welcome to DriversMap — the social layer for driving. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the agreement between you and DriversMap ("we", "us", "our") for the DriversMap app and the driversmap.app website (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use DriversMap.

Who can use DriversMap

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country, such as 16 in parts of the EEA) and able to form a binding contract. If you use DriversMap on behalf of an organization, you confirm you're authorized to accept these Terms for it.

Your account

You sign in with Sign in with Apple. You're responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your device secure. Tell us promptly at support@driversmap.app if you think someone else is using your account. Keep your profile information accurate.

Your license to use the Service

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use DriversMap for your own non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. We keep all rights we don't expressly grant you.

Drive safely — this matters

DriversMap is a tool for drivers, and safety comes first:

  • Never interact with your phone in a way that's unsafe or illegal while driving. Set up your route before you go, mount your device, and keep your attention on the road. Follow all traffic laws and signs, which always take priority over anything in the app.
  • Navigation, maps, estimated times, and place data can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. Use your own judgment — don't follow a route into a hazard, a closed road, or anywhere unsafe or prohibited.
  • Hazard reports, convoy positions, and other community content are created by users. They may be inaccurate, outdated, or missing. Treat them as informal tips, not verified facts, and never rely on them for safety.
  • DriversMap does not encourage speeding, racing on public roads, or evading law enforcement. You are solely responsible for how you drive.

You assume the risks of driving. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you use DriversMap while driving at your own risk.

Your content

You own the content you create — your posts, routes, photos, messages, hazard reports, and crew activity ("Your Content"). To run the Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for example, to resize an image), and display Your Content, solely to operate, provide, and promote the features you use and to deliver it to the people you share it with. This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for content others have re-shared or that we must keep by law, and for anonymized or aggregated data.

You're responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the rights to share it. Don't post anything unlawful, infringing, or that violates someone's privacy. We may remove content that breaks these Terms or our Community Guidelines.

Acceptable use

Using DriversMap means playing fair. You agree not to:

  • Break the law, promote dangerous or illegal driving, or use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
  • Falsify your location, spoof GPS, or manipulate territory, standings, convoys, or the feed.
  • Impersonate others, post others' private information, or infringe intellectual property.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, or interfere with the Service or its security.
  • Use the Service commercially or to send spam or ads without our permission.

Our Community Guidelines are part of these Terms and spell this out further.

Crews, convoys, and community features

Convoys and crews share live location among their members while driving. Only join or invite people you trust, and remember you can leave a convoy or crew at any time. You're responsible for how you use these features and for respecting the people you drive with.

Advertising and third-party content

DriversMap is free and supported by ads served through Google AdMob, and it relies on third-party maps and services. We're not responsible for third-party content, ads, or websites. Your use of third-party services is subject to their terms. See our Privacy Policy and Cookies & Tracking page for how ads and identifiers work.

Purchases and subscriptions

DriversMap may offer optional paid features through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple processes those payments and their terms apply; we don't receive your card details. Prices, auto-renewal, and cancellation are shown at purchase and managed in your Apple account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Except where the law requires otherwise, purchases are non-refundable.

Our intellectual property

DriversMap, its name, logo, design, and software are owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms don't give you any right to use our branding without our written permission.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using DriversMap and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these Terms or the Community Guidelines, if required by law, or if needed to protect the Service or other users. Some provisions — like content licenses that survive, disclaimers, and limitations of liability — continue after termination.

Disclaimers

DriversMap is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that navigation, maps, place data, traffic, or community reports will be accurate, complete, or timely. Nothing here excludes warranties or rights that can't be excluded under the law that applies to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DriversMap and its team won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD 50. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you, and nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence).

Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify DriversMap against claims and costs arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or Your Content.

Governing law and disputes

We'll always try to resolve issues with you directly first — email support@driversmap.app. If you're a consumer, you're entitled to the mandatory protections of the consumer-protection law of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings there; nothing in these Terms takes those rights away. Where a choice of governing law is permitted, these Terms are governed by the laws applicable at DriversMap's principal place of business, without affecting your local mandatory rights.

The App Store and Apple

DriversMap is distributed through Apple's App Store, and these additional terms apply:

  • These Terms are between you and DriversMap only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
  • Your license to use the app is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, as set out in Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, except as expanded by these Terms.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app. Questions go to us at support@driversmap.app.
  • Apple isn't responsible for addressing any claims about the app, including product-liability, legal-compliance, or intellectual-property claims.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as DriversMap grows. If a change is material, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the new Terms.
