This page explains how DriversMap uses cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies — both in the app and on this website (driversmap.app). It works alongside our Privacy Policy.
The short version
- This website uses only what it needs to load and stay secure. It doesn't set advertising or third-party analytics cookies.
- The DriversMap app doesn't use browser cookies. Because it's free and ad-supported, it uses a device advertising identifier to show ads through Google AdMob.
- Where the law requires it, you'll see a consent prompt before any personalized ads — and you can change your mind later.
On this website
driversmap.app is a static marketing site. It uses only essential, technical storage needed to serve the pages securely and remember basic preferences. We don't run third-party advertising or analytics trackers on the website. If that ever changes, we'll update this page and ask for consent where required.
In the DriversMap app
Mobile apps don't use browser cookies the way websites do. Instead, DriversMap and its providers use device-level identifiers and local storage:
- Essential storage — your sign-in session and app preferences are stored on your device so you stay logged in and the app remembers your settings. The app can't work without these.
- Advertising identifier — to show ads through Google AdMob, your device's advertising identifier and IP address may be used to serve, cap, and measure ads, and — only with your consent, where required — to personalize them. Learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Push token — if you turn on notifications, a push token identifies your device to Apple's notification service so we can deliver them.
Your choices
- Ad consent — in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland you'll see a Google-certified consent prompt before personalized ads. You can accept, choose non-personalized ads, or change your choice later in the app's settings.
- Advertising identifier — in Settings → Privacy & Security on your iPhone, you can limit ad tracking (App Tracking Transparency and Apple Advertising) and reset your advertising identifier at any time.
- Notifications — turn push notifications on or off in iOS Settings or in the app.
- Website — you can clear or block storage in your browser settings; essential storage is needed for the site to work.
Turning off advertising personalization won't remove ads — DriversMap is free because of them — but it will make them non-personalized.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There's no common standard for how to respond to it, so our website doesn't change its behavior based on that signal — but since we don't run advertising or third-party analytics trackers on the site, there's nothing to opt out of there.
Changes to this page
We'll update this page if our use of these technologies changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
